12 San Antonio dining and drink deals just in time for Father's Day - My SA

Unlike Mother's Day, Father's Day isn't really a brunch holiday, despite brunch being a really fun, tasty meal to share with loved ones. That being said, when it comes to celebrating dad, San Antonio restaurants and beer-serving places are more concerned with making sure everyone's father figures have something refreshing to drink on Dad Day.

This year, events are not just happening on Father's Day, so you can celebrate your pop on the days leading up to Sunday, June 18, or find something to do the day of. Either way, here are 12 dining and drink deals in San Antonio that will make your dad smile ear to ear.

Aldaco’s Mexican Cuisine

The first of October isn't just another Taco Tuesday — it's the taco Tuesday. National Taco Day, to be exact. Per Gustavo Arellano’s book, Tacos USA: How Mexican Food ConqueredAmerica, the holiday's origins can, unsurprisingly, be traced back to San Antonio in the 1960s.

Celebrated nationwide, the positively puro San Antonio holiday was recently moved this year from October 4 to October 1. Per a news release from Taco Bell, the date change was made, with the approval of the National Day Calendar, to ensure that National Taco Day always fell on a Tuesday. Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer, Taylor Montgomery, had this to say about the historic move via the news release.

"Once the National Day Calendar gave us their official blessing to move the National Taco Day holiday to its rightful home – Tuesdays – we knew our celebration had to be equally as big. We’re excited to unite taco lovers nationwide over the shared love of tacos on Taco Tuesday, October 1 and give our fans more than one way to celebrate during every Taco Tuesday in the month of October," he concluded.
